Help for Vmware esxi and astaro

Hello Friends !

i have installed esxi @home my hardware is:

1)intel dg41rq motherboard 
2)3nics 1 onboard and 2 intel nics 
3)4 gb ram 
4)i have netgear gs 108t switch 
5)i have another 8 port normal hub 

can you please tell me how many physical nics i require ?
how many virtual switch i use for dmz and wan and lan and wifi 

i have installed vmware cleint and installed beta utm 9 on vmware 

i tryed to install another vswitch to another nic (wan ) but it did not allow me  

this is some information which i can tell you (don't know if require more or missing any thing ) so please help me

    well, what you need to do depends on what you want to do off course.

    Simply put, minimum requirement would be 1 nic inside/1 nic public.
    If you want to have also a DMZ, then there's 3 Nic's.
    If it's virtualised or not really doesn't matter. The nics/vswitches in vmware has to have the same physical connections to dmz, inside, outside as if it was a standalone PC.

    So, simply put, create a vmware virtual pc, for instance SuseEnt/64 bit with 3 nic's added. This off course (again) requires the you've got the 3 vswitches available.

    Thanks , for fast reply for time being we can forget about DMZ i just want lan and wan 

    but i am not able to add wan interface to another nic its standby and DCUI is not allowing me to change ip of 2nd nic 
    i have installed utm beta 9 i am able to acess gui of utm 9

    Thanks .now i am able to use basic astaro /utm software on vmware 5 
    now can i create a vlan with astaro/utm and use physical netgear switch and use dmz and wifi from netgear switch in that case two nics will be just fine for me as i am using on physical astao

    Hi.  Did you set up 2 ASG's as Hot Standby using virtual network to link them? I just posted the question on how to use the ASG's Hot Standby feature with ASG's I have in a VMWare vCloud.

    No ,i was using HA cluster Active/Active  with two differant physcial machines not on wmware now i want to know more about vmware

    So I did hook them up in the vCloud and they did talk to each other. However it doesn't appear to really be working.
