Local Content Filter Database -retries ?

Quick question; if receiving the;
The list subscription for this serial number ******xx has expired,
does this mean that it wont work at all or will it automatically retry ?


Worth a check since the perceived performance improvement is noticable!

( using disk option right now..)

    it will automatically retry...i'm not seeing the error at this time though on any of my firewalls

    it affects few users (I am one of them ) . This is already known to developers and they are trying to fix it [:)]

    OK,, Im seeing it on one ASG Im testing, so If it will retry = no problem, it will work.
    If not, then off course I've got to disable it again.

    Seems to work fine despite this issue occuring once in a while.

    if you are experiencing this issue...try setting the local option to none..reboot..wait a day..then retry the disk or mem option.

    I had the problem when it was first reported but then went away the next day and hasn't returned. From what I understand, the databse is not being able to update to a newer pattern almost like a failed up2date and hence the error. There is nothing broken and your local content database will continue to work like before. 

    New websites pop-up all the time so you want the freshest database but a little delay in update won't be that detrimental to everyday content filtering. You can always follow William's advice and go back to the cloud if freshness is a concern.

    On one ASG320 tested, I got the failed info and size-check;
    ls -l /var/chroot-http/var/pattern/sfcontrol 

    Never showed any progress, it kept reporting 0 in size after approx 30mins
    and beeing on a 100Mbit line.....

    Will test that site again I think
