Hardware changes

After a crash I had to change my mainboard with onboard network card. Now I'm not able to connect to WebAdmin. I tried ifconfig on console and there is no more eth0 interface, which was connected to the internal network and WebAdmin access is only allowed from this network. 

How can I change the interface for WebAdmin?
Or how can I switch the eth0 interface to another network card?

    Hi ralix,
    did you just change the motherboard without performing a fresh installation or did you do a complete rebuild and a restore from backup.

    From the tone of your post, I would suspect you just did a straight swap. This doesn't work very well because you don't pickup any new hardware which your nic looks like it is.

    A fresh install from ISO and a restore of the config will fix most issues.

    I had only changed the mainboard.

    Yesterday I've tried a new installation from CD. I decided to install the latest V8 (the old one was still V7).

    The first few times, the installation has aborted with the following error: "RPM installation error" (always with different RPM). Then I've burned a CD with only 8x speed and tried it again. Same error, different RPM. After a dozen tries it finally worked and the installation process completes. But then the system stops on boot with a grub error 18! So I tried it again. Same problems on installation and same grub error after successful installation.

    I've installed Astaro several times in the past (V6 and V7). I never had such problems on installation or on boot. 

    Remember that the old installation has booted successfully (several times)! Only the network interfaces were wrong, so I could not access WebAdmin.

    To test the HD, I installed Debian. The installation succeeded and the system has booted without any problems. 

    Some information about my system:
    - The changed mainboard is a VIA EPIA M (the old one was the same model).
    - The HD is a Samsung 80GB (not changed). 

    Any Ideas?

    Compare the checksum of your ISO and then burn a new CD at 4x or slower.

    The checksum is OK and an installation in a VM directly from the ISO succeeds without any problems. 

    I have two DVD burners and with NERO I cannot burn slower than 8x speed with these two burners.

    I tried it again one hour ago and the second installation was successful (first with RPM installation error). This time the system started without any error (3 times until now).

    Tomorrow I will try to restore the backup.

    I don't know what the problem was, but now it's running again.

    Probably was a problem with the CD drive in the firewall.
