Automated Reimage?

I'm trying to reimage my 220 with the v8.3 hardware iso but every time I boot up the 220 with the USB disc drive I get to a screen asking me to hit "enter" to continue installation.  I've tried plugging in a usb keyboard with no luck.

So my question is, aren't the hardware isos suppose to automatically install upon being booted from and how can I hit "enter" if I can't get a keyboard to be recognized by the 220?

    Hi, and welcome to the User BB!

    Does your 220 have 1GB of RAM?  In any case, you might try to burn a new CD at 4x.

    Thanks for the response Bob!

    The 220 has 1 GB of RAM (It was purchased recently from a reseller and is using the Firewall essentials license).  I tried burning a new disc at 4x and still keep getting the "Press Enter to start install", etc.

    I also tried redownloading the iso file and still keep getting the same. I'm downloading the ISO from ftp://ftp.astaro.com/pub/Astaro_Security_Gateway/v8/hardware_appliance/iso/ssi-8.300-13.1.iso

    Any suggestions?

    That sounds strange to me.  I think I'd tell the reseller that you have a malfunctionning device.

    Thinking about this though, if the 220 is running correctly, why not Up2Date it to V8.3 instead of re-imaging it.

    I've let it sit there for a minute with the same screen.  I tried booting up the iso into a virtual machine and after about 10 seconds it'll go into installation. (Same ISO I burnt to the disc).

    that may explain it. What is written in the upper right corner of the installer window? There should be something as "auto/cd" or something like that.

    Appliances requies the ssi image ( automated installation with extensions for hw appliances) . the asg images are software for own hardware or virtual machines, and is not suitable for hardware appliances...

    What I ended up doing was replacing the USB CD Drive with a new one.  Used the same disc and the reimage worked perfectly!

    Got to love the mysteries of hardware sometimes.
