64-bit installation

I bought a new Jetway motherboard JNC9KDL-2700-LF with the Intel Cedar Trail D2700 CPU and 4 GB of RAM, which runs fine and supports VLAN on the two Gigabit-Nics.
But it only take 3 GB because it's a 32bit installation.
I tried to install several times, but never came to the question to install the 64bit version. The Intel specification for the D2700 tell, it's 64 Bit.

Where is the problem to use the full 4 GB of RAM?

  • so what i would do is either drop down to 2 gig of ram, buy one stick of 1 gig for 3 gigs..or unfortunately get a 64-bit compatible board.

  • wk, I don't know what kind of chipset is on that board, but I have seen a board or two in the past that allowed 64 bit operation after a BIOS update.
