64-bit installation

I bought a new Jetway motherboard JNC9KDL-2700-LF with the Intel Cedar Trail D2700 CPU and 4 GB of RAM, which runs fine and supports VLAN on the two Gigabit-Nics.
But it only take 3 GB because it's a 32bit installation.
I tried to install several times, but never came to the question to install the 64bit version. The Intel specification for the D2700 tell, it's 64 Bit.

Where is the problem to use the full 4 GB of RAM?

    32 bit system have only 4 billion address to use.  Ram is not the only memory in a machine..the video card ram and various caches throughout also count.  Once that 4 gig is reached the system rolls over and you start "loosing" ram.  For any machine over 3 gigs 64 bits is required to use all of the available ram.
