8.203 Bricked my ASG?

I have an old ASG425 running a free edition license.

I've been running 8.202 for a while and upgraded to 8.203 today.

Upon reboot I lost access to the ASG.

Using a monitor on the device I finally discovered that eth0 and eth1 where no longer detected at all.  Booting into the BIOS screen would show all the nics 1-8 but nics 1 and 2 had no MAC address.

I finally got around it by modifying the udev rules and made eth4 and eth5 rename to eth0 and eth1 and my config started working.  But dmesg and lspci still do not show the original eth0/eth1  and the ports are dead.

Digging around the net it almost looks like the same bug discovered in a beta opensuse beta build from a few years ago.  The bug corrupted specific intel nics eeproms.

Hey,

the Serial number of your 425 would be interesting. Did you try to do a reinstallation of the device with the 8.203 image? We have not heard of any issues here yet but it would be interesting which revision you are running to make further tests in our labs.

I did not try a reload of 8.203

I had tried to restore several older backups and once I got the eth4/5 renamed to eth0/1 my config started working.

Also, since even the bios showed that Eth0 and eth1 where missing a MAC device I figured it was an issue above the software layer at that point. lspci and dmesg don't even show the nics in the system.

But I may try a reload of 8.203 at somepoint just to see what it does.
