Updates available for download

Hi everybody,

my 8.201 installation is telling me there are two updates available for download (202 & 203).

It appears those updates have already been completely downloaded, but something seems to be stuck.

I went to /var/up2date/sys and there were already 2 files. I also followed the instructions from https://support.astaro.com/support/index.php/Up2Date_Troubleshooting, but that had no effect. It just downloaded the files again.

Is there a way to make Astaro see the updates and offering me the installation button?

    No, you're right - The only things to erase are the u2d files in the /var/up2date/sys subdirectory.  It is strange that you found the checksums to be correct - maybe this a different issue, but there's no harm in trying to erase & re-download.

    I haven't forgotten about you. I've deleted these files and tried to redownload them via the script and also by uploading the files via the webinterface. No change.

    The machine has been running for almost four months now (great stability though :-) ). Maybe a reboot will reset something. But I won't try that before the end of the week.

    I'll let you know if I make any progess.

    Try to download the U2D-files manually from the FTP server and upload them via manual upload package on the advanced tab. That's how I update my ASG-boxes, call my somehow paranoid but I do not trust automatic update mechanisms. [;)] Have had that checksum and broken update file woe in the past, since I update manually it never came back.

    That's what I meant with "webinterface". I'm afraid that didn't work either. I deleted the files from the folder first, then logged in to the webinterface and uploaded the files which worked fine. But still there's no install button.

    It appears there's also a command line installation script (just read that in the above link), but that fails as well: 
    astaro:/root # auisys.plx --simulation

    Ah, ok. Sorry for misinterpretation. I still believe there is something wrong with the update files. 
    The /var/up2date/sys on my production machine is empty when there is no update on the way. I do not deal with md5 on the ASG, whenever I feel the need to check that I do the md5'ing on another Linux box.
    BTW, I did not find a directory named "/var/lib/u2d/release/asg/" on my machine. No typo?

    I would clean every directory containing up2date files and try again with freshly downloaded up2date files without the md5 stuff.
    If that does not help at all, I would save my settings and set up a new machine from scratch using an actually downloaded ISO. Maybe something is broken inside your machine.

    Yes of course. But only these two up2date files, nothing else.

    Yes you did. Look at your post dated from 12-09-2011 09:27 AM somewhere in the middle.

    No worry, these files are ok if they come originally from the Astaro FTP site. Without the md5 stuff means I do not download and put them on the ASG. 
    When uploading the u2d-files via webinterface they will not be used. But in earlier times when things were not so easy as today I sometimes have to use Putty to upload u2d files to the ASG together with the md5 files, but some ancient versions of ASG seemed to get confused about that.
    So just forget about md5 and upload the u2d files. Did you try to upload the 8.202 only and update?

    Yeah, but sometimes much faster than digging deep into the machine and searching for solutions to terminate errors. Proven by nearly 10 years of ASG experience. ;-)
