Hardware Compatibilty (not found in HCL)

Hey,

we would like to build our own Server with following componets and we don't found these components in the HCL V7.

2x Intel Gigabit ET Quad Port Server Adapter
and Raid1 on Supermicro X8SIL-F onboard Controller
Will it work?

ATM we use a provisiorium (core i3, single Sata HDD as IDE, 4GB RAM, 7 Realtek NICs)

  • any raid controller built into a motherboard is not going to work.  Get a real hardware card by 3ware or areca.  Even adaptec has some fakeraid boards(similar to bios raid) that aren't going to work.

  • Make sure whatever RAID card you use is in the HCL... the problem is, right now the HCL page is missing on the Astaro Support forum, I suppose for updates.  Check with your reseller, they should be able to get you a list from Astaro Support.
