Removing PCI-E card after installing ASG

Hi guys, I have installed ASG on a motherboard that has a display port by using a PCI-E graphics card. Fortunately, the graphic card is having issues with the GPU fan which makes a lot of noise.

For it I am wondering if it is possible to remove the PCI-E graphics card and keep ASG running without it?

    only if there is onboard graphics for it to use.  However since you would be changing hardware you would have to make a config backup and reinstall.

    No there is no on-board and the PCI-E card is noisy. That's why I want to remove it after installing.

    Well, without any kind of graphic card a usual mainboard would not boot. So you have to use another card, if no onboard graphic is available.

    Operative word being "usual". I have run across a number of server grade boards where you can force the bios to ignore a missing video card. A lot of them also include console redirection through the onboard serial ports. Support past POST however is dependent on the OS so YMMV.

    That said it's hit or miss as I've never come across a board manual that explicitly stated it supports a "headless" mode.

    Headless usually means monitorless not the absence od a graphics adaptor of some mind.  Most servers come with an 8 meg video adaptor on the mainboard.  If the current card is too loud you'll have to replace it with something else....which will necceisitate a reinstal..make a config backup first
