Manual update to 8.202

Hi all, 

I was one of the casualties of the 8.2 bugs,  and have currently rolled back to 8.201.  can I update using the soft-release of 8.202 via the ASG? or do I need to wait till they push it live?

    Hi, i think your versioning is either typo'd or miscommunicated [:)] 8.202 is currently in soft-release (manual install via ftp download only).

    i think you mean you were at 8.200/8.201 and went back to 8.103?

    if you want to get to 8.202, just let the 8.200 and 8.201 updates download, then "add" the 8.202 up2date manually and click "update to latest version" which will install all 3 (if you are at 8.103) in succession and just reboot once at the end, bringing you successfully to 8.202 in one "step".

    no, it is NOT a typo,  within the Up2Date on my ASG 220 I had the option of installing 8.201  AND 8.203  which is what it told me,  after scheduling the instlal via the GUI,  and seeing it fail to begin the install for over a month.. I decided to kick it off manually,  once completed, it had basically broken my entire infrastructure, s2s VPN's & all.. and I rolled back as far as I could to 8.201  as I had to do a factory reset to get it usable.

    as it is now I'm running (so the device tells me...) 8.201

    OK, but if you have a similar situation in the future where an Up2Date fails to install, you should get your reseller to submit a Support request for you.

    In point of fact, there was no 8.203.  After 7.511, there's been 8.100-8.103 and 8.200-8.201.

    We only can guess now, but it appears that your 220 knew that everything wasn't right.

    thank bob,  I've dropped a couple tickets into Astaro support,  but have yet to hear anything.   for now I've used the "No NAT" rule suggestion I found on the forums here to get my S2S VPN's up again, but it's still way more flaky thank I am comfortable with.


    in the end, what I'd like to know is that if I've downloaded the 8.202 update manually, can I use that in the manual update part of my ASG220 to update it to 8.202 to alleviate some of the issues?

    Yes you should be able to.  After you download the 8.202 u2d package, just upload it to your Astaro.
