RPM Error during installation

I always got a RPM Error while installing the current version of the Astaro Security Gateway 8.2. The problem also appears with older versions of the ASG.

Hardware:
System OR Motherboard: ASROCK P4i65G
BIOS version: American Megatrends Inc., Version: P1.40, Release: 07/31/2007
CPU: Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.00GHz
RAM: 2x512MB Corsair Value Select DDR 400 (diffrent RAM tested, no Errors in Memtest86)
Disk Controller 1: Intel Corporation 82801EB/ER (ICH5/ICH5R) IDE Controller
Network Interfaces: 3x Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL-8139/8139C/8139C+ (1x onboard, 2x PCI)
VLAN support: unknown
Video Controller: Intel Corporation 82865G Integrated Graphics Controller
Hard Disk: PATA Maxtor 6L160P0 (tested two diffrent Hard Disks)
Optical Drive: unkown (but tested 2 diffrent CD-ROMs)
Case/Chassis: MS-Tech MicroATX
Power Supply: MS-Tech 400W MicroATX

    I already burned it at the lowest possible Speed (16x), i also tried different blanks and different PCs to burn the CD. Even the md5-hash of the iso was correct.

    If it's a hardware problem, which component could be responsable for the failture? 
    (I already used the Ultimate Boot CD to test the RAM and the HDD. If it's reasonable i also could prime the PC.)

    A couple of things.
    1/. what mode is the disk controller in? Yes, I know you said it was a PATA.

    2/. might be the installation thinks it can install a 64 bit, but parts of the hardware are only 32 bit. What are the bios settings for the CPU?

    Thanks for the comments.

    to 1/ The HDD is jumpered to Chip Select, in the BIOS it is correctly detected as master and the CD-drive as slave.

    to 2/ There are just few options concerning the CPU. The image above shows the current CPU configuration.

    I also primed the PC the last 3 days without incident.

    Are there any further proposals to get the ASG installed?

    Try to find an ide cd/dvd drive and use that.  

    A couple of weeks ago I built a 8.201 astaro using a sata cd drive with bios set to ide.  It would not work.  Astaro gave errors and would not install.  Replaced the sata cd drive with an ide cd drive and the same disk worked just fine and astaro installed okay.
