Active IP addresses

Dear all.

We have a Hardware Licence for an ASG 220 with unlimited users and unlimited connections... When I now check the Active IP Addresses tab I cannot see the amount of active ip addresses... Is it probably possible to see the amount of used ip addresses although I have a unlimited ip licence.

That section is deactivated when using an unlimited license. You would need to install a user-limited license for it to work.

isn't it probably possible to check the amount of ip addresses as root?

If your network is mostly comprised client workstations, you can at least get a ballpark idea by looking at the Web Security section of Reporting Users Report. You could also try running a ping scanner in your internal network to get an inventory of machines. Keep in mind that if a client can use ipv6 for internet connectivity, then ipv4 and ipv6 will each be counted separately.

the thing is... we have many printers here in Germany. Does they appear as active licence when someone from Boston wants to print on the printer here in Germany?

Hm, I don't know if there is any way.

Maybe you look at the Bandwidth Usage Report. But I'm not sure if there are all active ip addresses listed.

'Reporting >> Network Usage' 'Accounting' tab
"Top Clients" "Last 7 Days" [Update]
Download as CSV - you may need to edit with Notepad to replace semi-colons with commas
Open in Excel. Sort on Country. Delete all lines not from LAN. Delete lines with IPs from VPN Pools. Count the remainder.

als root anmelden und folgenden Befehl ablassen count_active_ip.plx --showcount –debug
