Warning: License in Astaro are further than they appear...

In my opinion It should only take a few minutes to renew a licenses. 

I think the company product is very well designed but either it's partner or the hqs. In any event I'm glad that this is a one time deal until the next 5 years.
In the mean time can't resolve DNS until license is renewed. Nice.
I like to order a big mac and fries, pay for it and wait till its cold and soggy.

    We recently stopped giving out temporary licenses as Astaro seems to be looking for a way to prevent that.  If anyone else reads this, I suggest organizing with your reseller to start the renewal process two months prior to the expiration, as Bruce says.

    If your company insists on waiting 'til the last minute, it won't be pretty!  I've made suggestions to Astaro about this, but they're not paying me $5,000/day to consult for them... [;)]
