Hi All,
I was wondering if this Astaro configuration would cause any issues or not. Here is what I intend to do:
1. Customer has a flat network (10.0.0.0/24)
2. Customer has a DHCP server running on AD, it leases IPs from 10.0.0.100 to 10.0.0.254
3. Firewall (Internet Gateway) on 10.0.0.1
4. I want to use Astaro as a wireless controller so that any wireless client will inherit the IPs from the 10.0.0.0/24 range. DHCP obtained from item (2)
On my Astaro,
1. I bridge PORT 1 and PORT 2. This becomes BR0 (IP: 10.0.0.2/24, DEF. GW 10.0.0.1).
2. Port 1 connected to Internal switch (the 10.0.0.0/24 range). Port 2 connected to AP30s.
3. In the Wireless Network setting, configure Client Traffic to Bridge to AP LAN. Any wireless client will inherit the 10.0.0.0/24 range and obtain IP from the DHCP server.
1. Would there be any possible issues with any components on the Astaro (web filtering, QoS & etc.) or the APs?
2. Also, does the AP need to rely in getting an IP via DHCP for Astaro to ‘see’ it?
3. Is there any other deployment methods which allows the wireless client to inherit the 10.0.0.0/24 range without using bridging?
