Default Root Password

Hi,

I have been using the beta software for v8.17x and have now updated my asg to v8.2

I don't ever remember setting a password for root, but I can't get access to the asg using root and a blank password.

Does anyone know how to reset the root password or what the default password will be?

As Astaro is built on a locked-down linux distro, it's going to be something massively long and complex to avoid an insecure system when a user doesn't set a root password. You can set the root password in WebAdmin at Management>>System Settings>>Shell Access. If you don't have access to WebAdmin, you can set the root password from the console. https://support.astaro.com/support/index.php/File:Locked_out.pdf

Thanks for that that, did it via the webadmin page.

Must have been been looking straight at it before and not realised!!
