8.103 to 8.2

I've used to have a problem with Skype, while on8.103. My Anti-Port Scan was on (my IP used to be a web server, so lots of crap coming in), so whenever I start Skype, the whole internal host gets blocked, no more ICMP/UDP/TCP connections to astaro, until I shut Skype completely (close app). It was actively blocking it, so I've went ahead and added it as an exception.

With 8.201, I've allowed skype to log and allow and turned off the block, no luck whatsoever to get that controlled. Still the same old issue.

Another problem is the SHAPE button in Flow Monitor doesn't work regardless of the fact that traffic is defined and Application Control On.

QoS is also broken in my opinion. I had definitions that used to shape properly upper limits, etc. now they are no longer working.

QOS is NON intuitive.  It works but you have to think backwards.  in is out and out is in except for wan.

Not to spoil anything but CCNP here, quite familiar with how QoS works.

My statement is that QoS worked in 8.103 and stopped in 8.201

Same traffic selectors, same pools same interface.

Application control is designed to block stuff, not to allow it.  BTW, the easiest way to get skype to work is to set it up with SOCKS5 proxy.

I have a Problem with my Astaro HA config.
I tried to schedule the update from 8.103 -> 8.201, but it does nothing. So I tried to manual install the update. But this way there was no successs to.

Any Ideas how to fix, or is the HA config the probleme?

@martin.zeug:  From 8.103 you need to first install the 8.200 u2d package.  Then you'll be able to apply 8.201.

I tried, but was not possible. It does nothing when I click on "install"

Something might be "stuck".  See if it'll work after a reboot of the Astaro.

A reboot did it, I successful installed 8.201.

But now I have a strange behavior, NATed Server can not reach servers behind Site2Site VPN, with 8.1 it worked. 
Where there changes?

i've been running he home releases since v4..v8 has been a nightmare for quite some time.  The home users are one voice however i can tell you partners aren't happy with this crud either...Astaro's going to have to shape up quickly or there aren't going to be many paid customers.

It's got some of us in the client base nervous as well. A year ago I was busy trying to talking our local IT partners/vendors into adding Astaro into their lineup, now not so much. With the teething troubles v8.2 has been having (this stuff should've been caught in beta), I'm not confident recommending someone sink several grand (or more) into Astaro's product anymore. I know if I was making the call today, it'd be a lot harder convincing myself that my organization should sink $9k into Astaro then it was a year ago.

All that said, Astaro is at least willing to hang their laundry out in public, something I do applaud them for, and one of the things that drove me towards Astaro in the first place. That means in cases like 8.2xx, those of us in production can hang back after seeing reports of problems with features we use, even if it does raise questions about the product.
