Swap usage increasing on 8.201

let me share my stats as well
I have 8.201 running for 2d 15h 8m

I have 4Gig RAM and ASG is using 44% (I have the memory option enabled )
swap is also constant at 1% (1G)

Wingman, do you have local DB enabled as disk or memory?  I have it enabled as disk and my swap is growing around 1% a day.  I did a fresh install of 8.173 from iso (that was the last iso wasn't it?) then updated to 8.200 then 8.201.  I plan to do another refresh install when they release 8.200 GA.

I'm running 8.201 and my memory is staying at 44% and my swap is staying at 0%.  I have the http proxy running also.

edit: but the http proxy is preventing me from visiting certain websites.  They time out.  As soon as I turn the http proxy off the website loads fine.

Monarch was having a problem until 8.201 was installed. Not sure about billybob or Goldy at this stage.

I always run my swappiness at 10 so my astaro doesn't swap that much to begin with but with 2GB ram, http proxy is using 1325m VIRT and 530m RES. I am still using 8.20 and didn't update to the latest. However my memory usage is pretty stable, but remember, I only have 3 users on the test machine and someone like Goldy might see huge spikes where I am seeing little ones. And my SMTP Proxy is running without issues unlike Goldy.

I have to agree with william though, the proxy does become slow at times and with access times taken out of the logs, its hard to troubleshoot.  

If you look at the attached images of weekly and monthly graphs, the memory stays almost the same. The only problem I had was at 8.174 with huge memory usage with local content database enabled. The little spike in the weekly graph is due to me enabling IPS for a day or so.

I ran into the timeout issue the day the SR(early beta IMO) went "live" and posted about it..[:)]

My ASG is running with memory option enabled. Yes, the http proxy does run slow occasionally, but I attributed that to high overseas link loads at night because it doesn't seem to affect local sites much.

If I do audio streaming from the US the audio is quite choppy even with a large cache, where as the local stuff is fine.

The kids to do complain about the http proxy being slow and that occurs in the middle of a reasonable size download, the link is not saturated. This needs more study to see if it is load based, I am talking about light and heavy loads.

I have 4 to 10 users depending on how many laptops and i-phones etc are turned on as well as the PCs.
