Hi all,

I'm new here and currently having some issue on Astaro Ver 8.x
on my IBM x346 which already 6 years old.
I had few times installed Astaro Ver 8.x on the Server which running RAID 1
unfortunately never success.

Appreciate, anyone who could advice me on this matter

    Hi Naztreo,

Your x346. Does it use the onboard Adaptec AIC-7902 Controller for RAID or the optional ServeRAID 7k controller?

The 7902 is a HostRAID (fake-raid) controller so the raid function will not work with Astaro. I'm not sure about the ServeRAID 7k controller as it's not listed in Astaro's Hardware Compatibility List ( https://support.astaro.com/support/index.php/Hardware:CompatibilityList ) but is well supported by Linux kernels of the same era/version as Astaro v7 & v8.
  • You will need to disable RAID 1 -- the only time RAID is supported is if the controller in question is on the HCL... by and large most RAID controllers are unsupported on the ASG platform.
