hardware needed

I would like to run Astaro on the below hardware mainly I will be using 1 site to site vpn tunnel, web filtering, and virus scanning. I have a 60 meg internet connection that is heavily used should I expect to see any slow downs. It seems like you need quad core cpu's these days to take advantage of UTM's


P4 3.2 Hyperthreaded
4 gigs of ram
80 gig sata 
intel pro 1000 MT

    Hi,
    on the assumption that you will be using 2 intel NICs, that configuration will be fine.

    Please review the  unofficial HCL just above this thread, that wil provide you with many answers and option.
    The HT feature won't give you many benefits unless you are running many users with lots of configured features. The HT will chew up memory with a number of processes possibly sitting idle.

    Yes the nics will be Intel all I use are Pro 1000 MT's or Pro 1000 PT's. You stated "The HT will chew up memory with a number of processes possibly sitting idle." are you saying hyper threading is a bad thing and I should disable it
