Adding more memory

No reinstall of Astaro is necessary when you add memory.

Hello,

I'm currently running ASG home license v8.103 on a Dell PowerEdge SC440 with 4 NICs, 2Gb RAM, 80GB.  Are there any hiccup if I install additional 2Gb of RAM for a total 4GB.  Would I require to reinstall ASG?  or add the additional memory and reboot and ASG would recognize the additional 2Gb.

your machine will recognize most of the new ram due to the limitations of 32 bit.  if your machine is 64bit capable i would highly recommend making and downloading a backup and reinstalling with 64 bit.

Just a follow up question regarding reinstall of ASG.  I have Verizon Fios and every time I've reinstall ASG, my WAN IP will not refresh immediately even trying renewal and contacting Verizon tech support doesn't help.  I usually have to wait approx. 30 - 40 minutes before my WAN IP is renewal.  Is there a tip / trick on getting the WAN to renew / refresh quicker?

ASG doesn't care about ecc and non ecc mixing but your mobo will most likely barf.  it is one or the other.

as far as the wan refresh...have you tried powering down the ont completely..aka even removing hte battery from inside it) waiting 5 minutes then powering everything back up?  if that doesn't work then nope just have to wait vz out.
