Astaro Security Gateway for home use?

I have a home network (about 15 devices) and am going to set up a Astaro box for dual WAN redundancy and its security features. I'm torn between Untange and Astaro. 

1) Are there any features missing from the home edition?

2) Could I buy a used Astaro security appliance (from eBay) and use a home account with it?

    The two that come immediately to mind are that as a home user, you will not be able to customize notification pages and are limited to 50 IPs behind the Astaro.

    2) Could I buy a used Astaro security appliance (from eBay) and use a home account with it?

    There is a way of doing so, but keep in mind that most appliances on EBay are going to be older revisions with limited capabilities in terms of processor and memory.  You'll more likely get much better performance at a lower cost by going with your own hardware.  Check in this forum for different atom based configurations that people have put together.

    for hardware recommendations (later pages are newer hardware).

    There's threads here about using appliances for home use, but many models do not have a VGA port installed, and older models do not have enough memory for current software versions.

    I've been using the Home use edition in my home for quite some time now. I haven't had any problem with it. I have a HP Desktop PC that serves as my Astaro box. I have tried Untangle but I would suggest not going with it because Astaro's Free Home Use addition includes features not in the free version of Untangle. The free version of Untangle does not include WAN Failover, WAN Balancer, Web Filter, Policy Manager, and Configuration Backup, IPsec VPN. The Astaro Home Use Edition has these features and more without the cost of $50 per month to get them all in Untangle. This is why I chose Astaro for my home network. I have tried Untangle but have not been able to get it working on my network. Not exactly sure why but apparently it doesn't like my Gigabit Network Cards.
