HOw to setup Astaro Question

I have a public facing webserver in a datacenter that i would like to put Astaro in front of.  I do NOT want to use private ips on the webserver as it is already configured to use the public ips.  I have a /29.  I'm thinking i can bridge the Astaro and work this...some pointers or tips to accomplish this would be highly appreciated.

  • You could bridge, William, or you could use a trick that Barry (I think it was) taught me - a transfer network.  Say you have 66.67.68.64/29.  Put 66.67.68.64 on a DMZ interface and 66.67.68.65 on the server.  Tell the ISP to route 66.67.68.64/29 through 66.67.68.67 on your External interface.

Maybe some others could chime in here about advantages of doing it one way or another.  I think you can't do QoS on a bridged interface...

    cheers - Bob
