Hi just installed astaro gateway v8

Ok, now its a little bit clearer [:)] two of the network cards are pci, and 1 built in card. Maybe take the pci card out, and just test with the built in card?

Eh, need at least two card's installed? In from my homecentral and out again to my network? Thanks Scott for great helping so far

Yep, at least two.  [:)]  In the linux world (not just Astaro), eth0 would be your WAN interface (the one going out to the internet, in your case homecentral).  eth1 would be for your LAN (stuff internal to your network).  Any additional eth interfaces could be used for additional internal networks or WAN connections.  Right now what you want is whichever NIC is eth1 to connect to your switch.  You'll also want the laptop that you'll be using to connect to WebAdmin connected to this same switch.  The tricky thing is figuring out which NIC is assigned which interface.  If you weren't paying close attention in assigning WebAdmin to eth1 and which NIC is eth1 during install, it's pure guesswork at this point.  You can always reinstall, carefully watching for these things, which isn't a big deal since install only takes 10-15 minutes in most cases.

PS, Lutefisk is icky.  ;P

Good to hear.  Hopefully we'll get it this time.  I'll check back every few minutes for the next couple of hours (then I have to get ready to take my dogs to a charity walk).

EDIT : When its used as a router, it dont need screen,keys' and so on? Only power and network?

Correct, all administration is done from another machine on the network, like your laptop, through the built-in administration website called WebAdmin.

No worries, I'm not doing anything else.  It's 4:40 AM here.  Dogs woke me up early and I couldn't get back to sleep.
