I finally upgraded to v8.102! [[:)]] Some considerations, let's start with the good ones [[:)]]
- The upgrade process has been very fast with my 220, only 10 minutes of downtime
- The very surprising thing has been the quarantine: reading some posts about v8 migration I understood that I would lost any spam mail, but I found them! (and successfully released from quarantine...). Do I miss this information, or is it not documentated?
- The NTP server works immediately after a reboot. With v7 I had to wait for 10-15 minutes after my ASG was online, don't know why... I exactly know this information because I'm monitoring all our network services with Advanced Hostmonitor, and with v7 it returned "alive status" only after 10-15 minutes.
not very good:
- When you start the upgrade process, the login page tell you that "The system reboots two times during the upgrade process" and "A notification will be sent to the administrator's e-mail address as soon as the upgrade process is finished", but I received only 1 restart notification and no upgrade notifications [:(]
- the ip address shown in the consolle after the last reboot is the ASG default (192.168.2.100 if I remember well), and not the ip address restored from backup. I imagine that the reason is that the backup has been restored after the consolle output, but I really was afraid that somethings was going wrong [:O]
- DHCP server seems very slow to release IPs, and I am no more able to check its status with Advanced Host Monitor, it returns always "No answer". What has been changed respect to v7?
