That sounds like a really useful feature for a bios. I wonder what practical application that has, for an older box using an OS which doesn't support any more than 256MB? Very odd, glad you figured it out! I've not heard of that setting in a bios before...
Most BIOS have it. They used to have help text stating that it was only for Netware or some other ancient OS that had issues with certain memory regions.
