VDSL modem

I was wondering if anyone is using BT Infinity for their internet connection and if so what modem they were using. I believe its a pppoe connection and as such was hoping to connect directly through the WAN interface (instead of DHCP) thus eliminating double NAT. Most modems i've seen come stuffed with features and i was looking for a very simple device.

Any thoughts would be welcome.

    I'm using BT infinity.

    I have my WAN network card connected directly to the VDSL modem (I'm not using the home hub BT supply, only the modem). 

    In the interfaces setup, just set the WAN interface to use Cable Modem (PPPoE I believe) with IP by DHCP, and most importantly for the modem BT supply, DO NOT tick the VDSL box.

    Ensure you have something in the username and password field (I use u and p respectively) as BT Infinity doesn't use authentication, but Astaro seems to need something in these fields to connect properly.

    MASTER    SOCKET         BT   HUB     
                                                 

    Replacing the BT HUB with ASG and setting ASG with pppoE should do the trick
