V7 and V8: Just what exactly is the difference?

I've been searching for information regarding the exact differences between V7 and V8, mainly the licensing and what exactly is the difference between each.

My V7 is still on the old license (from early 2009) and I'm looking into upgrading to V8. But the information available about the licensing and differences in the packages is next to nill (as in I cannot find anything specific). My main concern is obviously losing any of the current features that I need and use because its now a subscription feature under the new license and V8.

Currently ASG V8.2 is in Beta again with tons of new features: Astaro Security Gateway 8.200 Public Beta

In terms of licensing you need a new 'ondemand' license for V8, the biggest difference is that we now have a "Network Security" subscription which includes IPS, VPN, Advanced Networking features and a few more.

If you ugprade your v7 license, we give your network Security subscription free for a certain time.
More information can be found bu starting a license upgrade in MyAstaro, the system will tell you precisly how your license will look after the ugprade and you can decide if you want to do it to go to V8 and get ton's of new featues or if you want to stay on V7.
