Foxconn R10-D2 Intel Atom D510 Intel NM10 Intel GMA 3150 under $100 - Good Choice?

Hi all.

I have been administering an Astaro server at work (K-12 school district) for over a year now and am thinking about implementing one at home.  My son is going on 10 years old and using the internet more - so filtering is going to be a must.

I don't want to spend a fortune, but I want a good stable system that will be SMALL and use as little power as possible.  I have read the HCL thread and many other success stories in this sub-forum indicating that the Atom D510 is a great processor for running Astaro.

Today while searching one of my favorite vendors (Newegg) I happened upon this:

Foxconn R10-D2 Intel Atom D510 Intel NM10 Intel GMA 315  

For $99 and free shipping.  looks like I can just add a small inexpensive hard drive, some ram, and a second NIC and I am in business, right? Has anyone here used this specific model or one similar?  Will this work OK?  Would 2 GB RAM be sufficient for home (only 5 PCs max), or should I max it with 4?  Any other thoughts or things I may have not considered?

    Foxconn says it has a Realtek NIC, but they do not list the model, so it's a little hard to say if it'd work. It probably would work in v8 though.

    The NM10 NB chipset is apparently supported in v8, see https://community.sophos.com/products/unified-threat-management/astaroorg/f/52/t/27167

    2GB RAM should be fine even if you use the proxies and A/V... my system only uses 400MB with PF and IPS.
    Keep in mind the lower-end Astaro appliances only come with 1-2GB.

    How fast is your internet connection? The Atoms are probably only good to 40mbps or so for IPS, although Astaro has recently made the IPS multi-threaded so it should do better now.
    I'll do some tests with iperf in a bit, scp is too CPU-bound on Windows for some reason.
