problem of install ASG under Hyper V

VMWare is the only officially supported Hypervisor at the moment (Support drivers for Hyper-v).
 
You need to use legacy network cards, delete the default one(s), and disable the integration components in the settings for the VM.
 
If you search these forums, you'll find other posts with peoples experiences using Hyper-V.

I would say I have already review other post in the forum with the key word "hyper V", as refer to Astaro staff-Angelo Comazzetto said even hyper V is not officially integrate and "support" this moment, but "Hyper-V works just fine" ...

So I would like seek for other guy whehter they have experienced my problem and give me some hints...

I have tried "You need to use legacy network cards, delete the default one(s), and disable the integration components in the settings for the VM." ... but the situation is same, the VM Astaro network interface report "state is up" but "Link is down", I have test the network cannot pass thru it .

Did you switch from the default virtual adapter to legacy after Astaro was installed? Astaro can have issues switching hardware after install. If you made the change after install, I would suggest reinstalling Astaro with the VM already configured for compatibility.

maybe I have mis-leading you on my problem:
1/ if I config default virtual adapter before installation (before the 1-st start of the vm), the installer stop due to cannot find any adapter...

2/ if I remove the default virtual adapter , and replace 1 or 2  legacy adapter , astaro can be sucess install, the problem is as my previous eamil situation...

3/ if I remove the  legacy adapter , & re add default virtual adapter , after shutdown of last installation, I cannot connect to the vm thru webadmin again... even cannot ping thru it, so I don't know whether the network interface inside Astaro being swapped...

any idea?

I am running astaro as a guest in hyper-v. It works just fine.

In the astaro guest settings, all NICs must be "legacy network adapter."  

If you can not ping to the astaro guest, the astaro guest settings as to which actual physical NIC is paired to each legacy adapter may be incorrect.   Easiest way to fix that is to shut down the astaro guest,  Go into astaro guest settings and switch which actual physical NIC each legacy adapter is connected to.  Restart astaro guest and see if you can ping it.  

If you have only two network legacy adapters and can ping the astaro guest, you know you have the correct settings.  If you have three (or more) legacy adapters, can ping the astaro guest but can not ping out the red interface, you need to switch which physical NICs are paired to the other two legacy network adapters.

I've attached images of the settings of the hyper-v virtual network manager as well as astaro guest settings.  Same procedure of shutting down the astaro guest and then modifying the astaro guest settings.

I have found that if I change the actual physical NIC adapters on the host PC, an existing astaro guest will stop working.  My solution was to create an entirely new astaro guest machine (deleting the old astaro guest that no longer worked).

Although not supported, I have used ASG under proxmox, as a KVM.  I stopped that though, because booting the HN was problematic (e.g. since there was no gateway, no DNS either then, and other KVMs and such got upset...)

I used to run ASG in Hyper-v and is normal for the interface to report as down even though it is up.

ASG does run fine in hyper-v as long as you don't want speeds any quicker than about 20mbps as this would appear to be the limit of the legacy adapters.

I did try installing the drivers for the normal adapters without any success, and hence I move to a physical hardware for my asg.
