Firewall seems to be up but all I have is a setup page....

Hi all,

Was wondering if anyone could enlighten me as I'm having a pretty hard time of it at the moment.

We have an Astaro box located off-site at my MD's house. It's version is 7.508. We got an email this morning from my MD who is currently out of the country. He said he can't strike a VPN. So tried to log on to the Admin page externally. He was greeted with no password, (which we normally have set) and a setup page prompting him to enter basic information.

The strange thing about all this is, our connections to key machines on his side of the network are all still connected and we can access them freely. I also tried to enter setup information on to the setup page. It was very slow and came up with errors saying we couldn't continue.

Anyone ever experienced this before?

    Sounds like someone initiated a password reset or factory reset- is it the initial setup page (asks for location, email etc) or just a password reset page you see?

    And the important question- do you (or the customer) have backups handy?

    Hi,

    It prompts for basic information setup and no, we don't have any backups to hand stored anywhere.

    We are going to ask him to manually reboot his astaro box at his end and see if we can access properly upon reboot. 

    We initiated a restore from backup about a month ago, but It never did anything. So it may be something to do with that. Eitehr way I'll know more when he's iniated the reboot of the machine.
