Home Ed. Up2Date "Dry run"

Hi,

Running the 8.003 Home Edition and it was enabled with automatic pattern downloads. However it kept saying for days that the patterns were up to date without changing pattern number.
So I switched to manual mode and suddently there was updates..

Problem is, when I try to install them manually nothing happens and the log says :

I've seen some forum entries about this, but not I am not sure if any of those threads presented a sollution ?

    In Web Security -> HTTP/S -> AntiVirus/Malware do you have Use AntiVirus Scanning enabled?  And if so, are you using single scan or dual scan?

    Hi,

    I am not using web security, so everything there is disabled.
    Only using "Firewall", "Intrusion Prevention" and remote access pptp.

    I did find out though, that if I edit up2date.conf via ssh and enable avira + clam then the updater runs. It resets back to 0 again in a short time in up2date.conf and the updater will just hang again.
