Your license has expired

Hi all,

I just started up our old ASG110 from one of our branch offices and wanted to configure as a backup unit.
When booted, I could not connect to it.. So I hooked up a serial cable and found out that no interfaces where configured.
OK, so I configured eth0. Fired up the web browser, logged into WebAdmin and got:
"Your license has expired"
What the heck?!? Isn't the base license supposed to be unlimited in time? OK, so I tried to upload a license and got 'invalid license' - probably because it is a 'new-style' license and the ASG was off the net for quite some time. So now I'm stuck: no 'old' license to use, can't upload a 'new' license and I don't want to reinstall from scratch. What options do I have? Why is the license expired in the first place? And why wouldn't the ASG bring up the interfaces?

Thanks,
    Jörg

  • If there were no interfaces configured, then the configuration must be broken.  What new-style license did you upload?  The license for a software version won't work with an Appliance.  Have you contacted your reseller?

    Cheers - Bob
