Strange startup beeping

Hi,

I've recently installed ASG v8 Home Use Edition on one of my spare computers (see below for specifications).  One thing that confuses me is why the hell it beeps five times after each boot-up (this is not a one-off, either).  As far as I can tell it doesn't appear to be signalling any errors as everything seems to be working without a hitch.  Is this normal [:S]?  Perhaps it's just a countdown mechanism to tell me when it's ready?

That's it.  It's comical if this isn't in the installation instructions!

PS Sure enough - doing a search finds the word "beep", so, if you know where to find it, it's there! [;)] - 'Management >> Shutdown/Restart': "The system will beep five times in a row to indicate a successful system start."

  • Thanks for the reply.  I've now found that entry in the PDF manual myself!  Only thing left to do now is to cower away in the corner [:$].
