Old Astaro Firewall, Need factory resetor root password.

I got old Astaro Firewall, which have 3 eth interfaces. O don't know root password. What Can I do?

I tried:
- boot with "linux single" on lilo (there is no image fo single mode boot)
- type "default factoryreset" (but I need password to accept reset)

Maybe I can reinstall software? Does anyone know what software version I can install?

HI, you should re-install.

If you have a valid Appliance license, download the hardware ISO.

If you have a home-user or other software license, use DBAN or similar to wipe the drive or delete all the partitions, and then install the software ISO.

Wow, what kind of box is that? I've never seen this before [:)] Is this an orignal astaro box?

partyboy, are you sure the processor and RAM meet the needs of actual ASG versions?

Hello [:)]

I don't have any license... I have only this hardware. In the inside are:

Celeron 900MHz
256 mb ram
HDD 20 GB

So the only solution is the break password.

That CPU is going to make the webadmin quite slow, but might be OK for 10mbps or so of traffic.

The RAM is going to be a huge problem though; v7 and 8 need much more; v7 needs AT LEAST 384mb for basic packetfilter + IPS.

I don't think you understood my post above.
If you don't have a license, you can get a free home-user license, assuming this is for home use.
Or, you can use the free 'essentials' license.
