Nic Limits w ASG virtual image (esx4) 7.507

Hello all
I have been using the free home virtual appliance since april of this year. Works great, little issues but mostly because I am a Cisco guy. 

With this image it has 3 interfaces. eth0,eth2,eth2.
Eth0 and eth1 work fine. It appears no matter what i do to eth2 it doesn't work.
I even tried giving it a static ip and nothing.
It shows up in ifconfig and not stats.

Since this is virtual in vmware esx4 it uses the same driver for all nics.  Because I have home edition license is the eth2 dmz only? locked some how?

I want to use it for Comcast cable modem BEFORE i get rid of dsl on eth1. 

Any ideas?  Is there a way to manual configure this interface or logs I can look in to see if it working at all?

    Yex  i have it assigned to a virtual switch that has a vlan 8 estup for it. On the switch vlan 8 is for comcast. Pretty much same config for how I have dsl working.

    Side note. I installed another network card in the esx server and ran a cable straight to the cable modem. This works now.

    I still thing there is something wrong with the vmware image that astaro lets you download. that 3rd nic doesn't work. I tried connecting it to a vswitch on another network 10.1.0.1 with a vlan l3 interface created on the switch for it. I have other vm in this vlan on the 10.1.0.x network and they work fine. 

    Can someone check this image?

    ALSO i cannot get asg 8 to work at all on the network. Even if i put a vm in the same network 192.168.0.*** as the asg. This is how I got the current asg configured int he first place so i know how to do it. I haev 10 vm running in my vmware system just fine.

    Just a heads up.
