Effects of astaro software appliance license expiration

      Thank you for your interest, and i am so sorry for the delay in reply.
I have astaro version 8 software appliance "evaluation version" , and i want to know the effect of the license expiration for both evaluation and purchased version, and i mean by the effect of license expiration , what features will be disabled
because my evaluation version expire with the web proxy disabled and i think that this will be very unwanted manner if this will occur in the purchased version.

In general, yes, the web proxy will be disabled.  I would expect that the services included in the "Essential Firewall" would continue to work, but that the subscription-based items will not.  But, there's no reason to allow a subscription to lapse.  If, for example, you had a license that expired 31-JAN-2011, you could purchase the renewal and apply it today; your system would show a new expiration date of 31-JAN-2012.

First, thank you for your reply.
Second , when a service like web proxy and mail proxy stop to work i think that internal network will be isolated from the external, do you think that it is a horrible manner , but as you said we should not allow the subscription to lapse.

You said that when a license expire the only services that continue to work is the services included in "Essential Firewall" that include :
1. Networking
2. Firewall
3.VPN (PPTP-L2TP)

Services like "Web security" and "Mail security" will be disabled , these include "web proxy" , "mail proxy", "Antivirus" and "Antispam"  as these services is not included in the Essential edition.

BUT as  i read through this forum that when a license expire services like "Antivirus" will continue to work but  its update will be stoped,
so according to what i understand the service will continue to work BUT only updates will be stoped.

I AM BEWILDERED.

AT LAST , can you coordinate me to a source from which i can understand how astaro license work.
