Installation Freezing/Black Screen at "Formatting Storage Partition"

I am trying to install Astaro 7.507 on an IBM/Lenovo ThinkCentre M55 8808

Setup detects all of my hardware fine, and the installation proceeds smoothly until it reaches the stage "Formatting Storage Partition" where it seems to be doing it and then it hangs and goes to a black screen where the computer will hang for ever.

What is the issue here? Is it an HD issue, a motherboard issue? Bios issue? I tried enabling AHCI and then the computer wouldnt even detect the drives, so that probably wasnt it.

Hi, you could view the installation messages by pressing ALT-F3 but you're probably going to be much better off installing version 8 as it has much better support for new hardware.

Version 8 is in release... I recommend using the Version 8.001 ISO.

You'll want more than 1 NIC in that box...

Try installing in classic or noACPI mode ... should list the options at the CD boot: prompt.

Your version 8 install advice was sound, and yes I do have 2 nic cards, an intel onboard one and an intel pci one that I bought with it.

The install went smoothly with v8, maybe better large HD support?

Now 1 problem, how do i configure it using my .abf file and put in the license key?
