Agere NIC's need 8.002 iso?

I have a compact embedded computer with 4 Agere ET-131x controllers.  The ASG ISO image posted is 8.001.   When installing I get an error saying no network interfaces found and the installation stops.  This is the message in the log:

Sep 23 14:13:06 (none) user.info bootstrap: Detecting network devices
Sep 23 14:13:07 (none) user.info bootstrap: interface (Agere ET-131x PCI-E Ethernet Controller) ignored because it lacks a name (buggy hw?)

Sep 23 14:13:10 (none) user.info bootstrap: ERROR: No network card was found.

The release notes say that an added feature of 8.002 is support for this exact network controller.  However I cannot add the 8.002 patch because the 8.001 installer stops.  The motherboard does not have any card slots to temporarily add another NIC.  I tried adding a USB NIC but the installer did not recognize that.

Is there an 8.002 ISO available?
Anyone have other ideas how to get 8.001 to install?

Thanks,
-Dallas

  • I think you're going to have to use an 8.002 ISO, when it becomes available (I think in a week or so).
