ASG v8 on Fit-PC2i

Sorry for my slow reply, really been busy

1) YES it is Really Hot to the point, you Wont want to place your PALM ON IT for more than 5 seconds. (Actually the moment you place your entire palm on top of it, you will pull back)

2) But is that a Problem? Nope.

3) Does it OverHeat and cause problems such as Hangs etc? NOPE.

4) Is there a Better Hardware? NOPE.
That ASG 110/120 Revision 4.0 does win in terms of number of ports and gigabit.
But this ASG110/120 is still on those spinning hardisk and not solid state drive.

5) I did buy the Heat SINK from Amazon and attached to it simply just to look cool and give it a try, NOT a must but not that expensive anyway.

6) Recently I bought another FitPC2I 2GHz Model and a OCZ 60GB SOLID STATE DRIVE. I would be installing it around next week, let you all know if it works.

7) Overall, I can't find something better yet and Astaro still does not allow keen supporters like us to buy their Hardware and load a home license to Learn (Things like how to load the firmware via USB, how the hardware behaves, how to see the LED to determine problems, High-Availability, DMZ etc)  which will promote us supporting it at work.

For those in Singapore, it cost SGD$1200 for Both the Fit2PCi and a 60GB SSD from a local vendor to ensure you have warranty. Buy online and you can forget about warranty as the shipment is very expensive.

I believe the 2GB RAM is More than the 110/120 Revision 4.
They do NOT state the Actual CPU Processor nor RAM.
In fact, disappointed that it is not 64-bit too, even if 2GB, 64-bit would be cool too.

Hopefully FitPC can release a new model with 03 x Gigabit Port, 64-Bit Processor would be good to have.

not good news for SSD users - alvin, let us know what happens in next months, it seems that ssd will soon dead on astaro cause eccessive disk usage

- With regards to HEAT, YES it is much hotter but really not an issue, I simply pop in a Heat Sink (I mounted one on top and one below just for fun)

- With so much RAM to spare (This is a 2GB Box) and only using 1GB.
- Zero Swap.
- The only thing I can think of Disk Access is Logs. (Yes I did purposely Log everything simply just my way to enable everything and see what this box can do)
- If it dies in a few months time, I would simply go for warranty.
- I think a SSD on a Real Computer ( lets assume on the same fitpc, running windows, running 24 hours a day purely for web browsing, you tube, facebook, twitter, well I am assuming a tiny box like this will be connected to TV), do you think it will die in few months? That is a lot more disk access than a Astaro box right?
- Hey there is a 3 years warranty....lets see how it goes.
- Worst Case Scenario, fork out less than SGD100 and buy one of those sub 100GB HDD, I doubt so.

Ive got a fit pc2i 2ghz model. It's currently loaded with a 160GB sata disk. When i visit places like Bredbåndsmåleren — IT- OG TELESTYRELSEN or Ookla Net Metrics | Speedtest to messarure the performance, the fit pc locks up. 

It stops to answer on ping exactly when it starts the upload test. It's located in a closset, so it could be a heat issue.

Have anyone else experienced lock ups ?

I tried moving the unit to the ceiling, where its really cold. No difference. 

I use vlan to separate lan and dmz trafick, could that be the reason?

Disabled the vlan configuration, no diff.

Weird ! So it locks up when there is a lot of traffic, it also died when i was ftp'ing from wan to dmz. Maybe bad hardware.

Back to my virtual but power hungry astaro. 
Btw. seriusly considering a Intel S1200BTS + XEON E3-1220L
