Kingstone 30gb ssd can be bought at (more or less) 100€... a cheaper solution would be an SDHC (the fit-pc has a built-in card reader)... . Do you think that  30mb/sec is a acceptable speed for Astaro to works?

30MB/s is plenty.

However, unless the SDHC emulates an IDE/SATA drive, it won't work with Astaro.

Also, an SD is not going to have as long a life as a good SSD.

I am too excited thus I am thinking of just buying one to try and if Astaro does not work, I will just throw Linux / Windows onto it.

I checked Amazon and they do not have the PC2i model which is a must to have 02 NIC.

Any idea where else can buy?
It does have a 4GB SSD NAND .

Can't wait to find a hardware that works and then we can play with a lot of stuff.

Am I right to say if it can boot up with Ubuntu, chances are Astaro can work on it?

Reason I ask is, when mentioned Astaro to those companies, 99% will scratch head, tell them it is a Firewall and they would talk to me about Cisco, Fortinet etc.

Thus I generally just tell people Ubuntu ( which is acceptable to people)

The page in your link one post up now says 4GB SSD... as long as it emulates an IDE or SATA drive, it would be OK, except that 4GB is WAY too small for Astaro.

Some Atoms (330 and some newer ones) support 64-bit but since Atoms don't support a lot of RAM, there wouldn't be much point.

- I did browse the reseller websites but I am limited to US, UK, Japan.

- This is because I am in Singapore and when I buy things overseas, I generally have to order from the US website, get it shipped to a US Address provided by my postal service, then the postal service will bring it to Singapore.

And currently they only have address in US, UK and Japan.

- This solves the problem of some / most websites seems to ship only to their local address and also it is cheaper.

US website - Amazon does not have the new Fit2PCi Compulab -Leading  Manufacturer of CoM's - Computer-On-Module's and it does not sell online, I found a Local Reseller in Singapore.

- Now pending them to respond to me.

I really think Astaro should consider simply selling their Hardware Online and then this way, Home Users like us can buy it and apply our Home License, Business Users after they play with the Free for Business Edition, likes it, buy more software license and just add them in etc.

Also with the RED and upcoming Wireless, it really makes sense for Astaro simply to sell the Hardware online but does not come with commercial grade support since the license is free for home use etc.

Found a Singapore Reseller whom does not mind I am a Individual (Astaro Singapore Office and Reseller should Learn from them) and is willing to sell me even if it is just one piece.

1.1) Reason being I need to have Backup Plans if Astaro does not work on this hardware, then it can still be a Normal Computer ( With Ubuntu or I go and try other Linux Firewalls like Untangle, Endian, Guardian etc )
1.2) The Cost of 160GB HDD and Diskless is Insignificant so if I buy a SSD and pop it in, then the 160GB will go into a USB Case. It is less than SGD$50 Difference.

2) Now, I need help with SSD as they seriously does not have the 4GB SSD Soldered on model and they do not sell SSD so it is up to me to source for it myself.
Initially I thought it is just selecting Size and that is it.
Read further and realized there are different SSD , MLC, SLC whereby SLC performs better etc.

But as SSD is so expensive, I need to bet correctly

2.1) What is the Minimum Size that would make this box run simply well?
      Astaro specification is 20GB HDD, so you think 32GB is fine?
      I need to know the minimum in case 32GB -> 64GB -> 128GB is Huge cost difference.

2.2) Does the Brand Matters as in Certain Brand will work in Astaro and Certain Brands will not?

2.3) Any tested and proven models that you know die die will work...

This is a massive gamble....bet $$$ on the Box and $$$ on the SSD...

If all goes well, 4 weeks I should be able to get hold of it. ( This hardware is seriously popular)

Lastly, am I right to say, this box is better than ASG110/120 other than the number of NIC is limited to 2?

32GB is fine.

Anandtech has some REALLY good articles on SSDs... a lot of them have had design problems... stick with a good brand and vendor.
MLC should be fine for Astaro.

As long as Astaro works with the SATA HD, a SATA SSD should work too.

I've seen 32GB Kingstons for about $130USD on Newegg, even less with rebates.

Yes, the Atom-based systems should be faster than an Astaro 120.
You might even be able to run VLANs if 2 NICs is limiting.
