V8 installation problem on ASG 110/120

Hello,

I have an ASG 110/120 at home (got it from an old customer), the hardware isn't the newest one but the generation before.

I tried to install V8 on it (the software version, not the hardware version), installation is running fine, but on first reboot, partitions aren't seen by the kernel.

Grub is loading, kernel is starting but I am stuck with the message : waiting for /dev/disk/by-label/root to come up... (or a similar one, I can't exactly remember...)

I tried to specify in Grub the root partition has : /dev/hdc6 (which should be this one on this kind of hardware), same problem.

ASG V7 software version is running fine on this unit.

Any idea ? (or maybe someone with the same problem ?)

  • Also, if you haven't removed the existing partition, there's stuff left from the "Appliance" version that will cause problems.
