Install of ASG 8 fails on HP ML350 G3 and DL360 G3

Yesterday I tried to update an existing ASG 7.505 to v8 by using the downloaded ISO image. Install works fine, all devices detected, no errors.

However, upon first reboot the server will reset itself or simply hang while loading the GRUB loader from the MBR. Not even an error message from GRUB appears.

I tried twice in different servers, but same effect. Is this a known issue?

Thanks,

Ronny

  • Ulmi, there are some very, very small differences in the appliance and software versions, but the Up2Dates all are universal.

While this is true for normal up2dates, the upgrade-to-v8 up2date is special - check Angelo's blog post: Astaro Up2Date Announcements: Announcing release of Astaro Security Gateway Version 8

Approximately in mid-August, we will publish an Up2Date for V7 which will add a button which automatically migrates your appliance and configuration from V7 to V8. As in the past, for quality assurance and hardware compatibility reasons, it will not possible to one-touch upgrade non-ASG appliances (software installations on custom hardware) using this method.
