SMTP Gateway

hi folks,

we have a new ASG 7.505 and i want to configurate this nice box that we can use the astaro as a smtp-gateway.

in fact we hate following situation:

1. Exchange Server behind astaro in local network
2. a external Smarthost (messagelabs)
3. the astaro which should route the mails from point 2 (below) to point 1 (below) [;)]

the astaro should except every mail from the messagelabs host and reject every other mail requests. filters in astaro should be disabled in firet step.

can anybody explain me how about to configure that this situation works for my astaro [:)]

Hi, eFFZ, and welcome to the User BB!

'Global' tab: "Simple" mode
'Routing' tab: (1) "Yourdomain.com" in 'Domains', (2) 'Route by' "Static host list" and (3) create a host definition for the IP of your Exchange server in 'Static hosts'.
'Relaying' tab: In 'Upstream hosts list', (1) create a host definition for the IP of your Smarthost and (2) check the box to accept only mail from there. Further down the page, in 'Host-based relay', (3) put the same host definition for your Exchange server that you created for the 'Static hosts' list above.

Now, if you already had a DNAT to guide SMTP traffic to your Exchange server, you must disable it, or the traffic will skip the proxy.

thx for your fast and detailed information! i have configured the astaro as you wrote above and i'll hope it works fine [:)]

i also deleted the nat rules for smtp [;)]
