UMTS/HSDPA in Astaro (ppp + pppconfig)

Hey Guys there,

I found now my Way to Astero and working for testing with the Free Edition till all will work fine. Now I have 2 Question. I`m using for going to internet a Mobiel Phone from Sony Ericsson which use the driver cdc-acm (USB) or maybe later a UMTS Card from huawei. But I can not load the Kernelmodules in the Version. As well it would be helpfull to get some better ppp suport in there or maybe I just don`t know how to do it.

For me it looks the kernel version dont have the support for this kind of stuff in there right ? Is there a way to make a dial connection for UMTS/HSDPA ?

I tried as well to make it with my Xperia X1 what gets normaly installed as RNDIS Network adapter, but this is as well not getting regoniced.

I`m using the lates Beta version because of the newer kernel.

Hi Daniel,

the ASG does not support 3G connections and there are currently - up to my knowledge - no plans to do so.

You might be successful with rebuilding the kernel for your needs, however this is something that Astaro cannot help you with.

I think the only clean way would be to use a separate UMTS/HSDPA router. So you can easily attach the router by Ethernet.
