Manual update via USB-Stick

Hello folks,

I once had a box where up2date was broken. I solved the issue by logging in through ssh and manually copying the up2date files from an usb-stick to the filesystem.
However I can't remember where to put the update-files and how to start the update process. It was some perl-script called au??.plx.

Can someone please give me a hint?

Thanks a lot!

  • Here are the instructions for downloading an Up2Date from FTP at the command line.  Once you get to /var/up2date/sys, you might want to delete any existing Up2Dates that appear to be stubs where a download did not complete.
    cd /var/up2date/sys

    wget ftp.astaro.com/.../u2d-sys-7.505.tgz.gpg
    /sbin/auisys.plx --showdesc

You will now be able to install the Up2Date normally in WebAdmin
