HI,
I have just installed this firewall on a virtual machine on VMware server. I have 2 virtual nics, one bridged and one configured with an internal address range which I have changed to suit the default of astaro - 192.168.2.0/24.
I have set astaro to get dhcp (cable modem) on eth0, which has been labled "external" and have checked for default gateway. It may be worth noting that i am not connecting to a cable modem, but just bridging to my LAN.
and obviously static ip of 192.168.2.1 for internal.
This seems to be a different setup from the installation chart supplied, but is common setup for a firewall, so I assume it should work.
I have checked all of the ping checked, and only entered in the one rule for packet filter - all protocols from internal (network) to internet.
I can ping from the astaro box itself to internet and to the internal client. but from the internal client, I can only ping as far as the external interface of the astaro box.
Any ideas on what may be wrong with my config?
