ASG 7.502 Cannot Access Web Interface (VMPlayer)

Hello All

Hope you're all well, I wonder if someone could help me, I've looked in this forum for other people having the same problem and I've come across 2 people who did but resolved it different ways, I've tried these ways but still no luck!

I've downloaded ASG 7.502 from the VMware Market Place and running it in VMWare Player 3.0. the image seems to boot up no problem, but I can't seem to access the web interface to start/complete the initial configuration. Once the image boots is stops at:

192.168.0.1
login: 

I've logged in as root and configured a password. By looking at other threads I've tried to make sure that both ASG and the VMWare Interface are are within the same subnet mask, which they are, here is the result of the ifconfig command in ASG

My Personal LAN is the 192.168.1.X range, 1 being the Router and DHCP address being issued from 50 upwards. As the subnet masks on both networks are 255.255.255.0 I can't see how they would conflict so I'm guessing it's not that

I've tried changing the VMWare adapters to hosts only but that didn't work

the VMware Image came with 3 Bridged networked adapters

I hope someone can help!

    with the ip 192.168.0.22  you will have no access to the internet, thats true. but you must me in the same subnet as the astaro, otherwise you can not access the webgui (there is no router which router from 192.168.0.X to 192.168.1.x)

    the webgui needs some time after the boot till it is ready. how long did you wait?

    as far as i remeber, i had a smiliar problem a few months ago with vmware workstation and their network adapters. I've disable one of them, but I really do not remember which one or how it was [:(]

    Yep losing internet on a temp basis isn't a problem as long as I can get access to the web interface and align it to my network settings but just can't get in and do it :/

    when I changed the IP then they should have put me into the same subnet of it (PC being 192.168.0.22/255.255.255.0 and the VM being 192.168.0.1/255.255.255.0) so not sure why it didn't work, but I'm guessing when I changed the IP of the PC it was trying to find the VM on the wireless network, which it isn't on there

    is there a way of me changing the IP address of the VM via the root login? I know the ifconfig command but don't know the command to change the IP :/
