Migrate from ASG 320 appliance to Virtual

The only thing that I can think of is if the virtual appliance is using a SCSI type disk and the original 320 uses IDE /SATA type.
 
I'm not certain if you can modify the drive type after the fact, but you can give this a shot.
 
If that doesn't help, what you may want to try doing is to just start with a new VM with IDE type drive, then just mount the install ISO and manually install it to the VM.
 
BTW, what version of Astaro is on the 320 and what version is on the pre-canned virtual appliance?

In general you must use a backup that is at the same-or-lower version as the software installed - you can't restore a 7.504 backup to a unit running 7.503.  If that's not the issue, then you likely have an issue with VM.

PS 100% cpu can be caused by a misconfiguration.  How many users do you have?  Which Security subscriptions are you running?  Is Intrustion Prention enabled?

YES!! the problem was the difference of backup version.

now I have to solve the incongruences of ethernet cards from appliance and virtual....

how can I remap network cards???
Now in webadmin  I see eth0 eth1 eth2 eth4 and eth7 (the one that was active in aplliance) but in virtual I havent those cards....

In general, the new environment must have the same number of Ethernet adapters.  The restore won't even work correctly if not.  You might be able to move the eth7 assignment in the 320 to eth3, make a new backup and then only need four adapters in the VM.

Please answer my questions about subscriptions and number of users.  I'm concerned that you have misconfigured something, and that that is the cause of your 100% readings.

Of course, being a VM, you could simply add extra virtual NICs until you have at least as many as you had in the 320.

Come to think of it, the other issue you will have is that the licenses for a 320 are not valid in the VM/software version.

I cant make changes in 320 because is in production!!
I have about 1500 'Network definition', 600 proxy users and 50 internal services.
I have premium support, Astaro staff in the past monitored my environment but they can't find the solution.
for your second answer.. ihave thinked and thinked.. but what else can I do? sometimes I have 100% cpu noone can browse and my boss wants to kill me.

I've not actually been down that path myself, but I expect you'll need to log in to the virtual console and use the cc command shell to assign your LAN interface first, after which you should be able to access WebAdmin and assign the rest of the interfaces to the correct virtual NICs.  I'll defer to the seasoned experts for confirmation and/or more details.

If nothing else works, you can always blow away the interface definitions on the VM after restoring your config and recreating them to match the hardware in the VM.  Then you'll have to remap things to the new interfaces.  Not optimal, but at least it's better than having to redo everything.
