Those are very old machine. My nexcom machine has sata 250gb  and intel core 2 duo and 2 gb ddr2 ram

HCL is based on the Linux core used in Astaro. 
 
V8, which is now in beta, upgrades the core and will offer a greatly expanded hardware compatibility.
 
Since it sounds like you already have the nexcom, you might as well try to install and see what happens. It will either detect the hardware properly or it won't. The most likely problem areas you might see are chipset and NIC.  The worst thing that'll happen is you'll lose a little bit of time for the install.
 
If you want to give the V8 beta a shot, you can find details at https://community.sophos.com/products/unified-threat-management/astaroorg/f/102/t/69361 . Be aware that this is a BETA, is not feature complete, and has bugs. It is nowhere near ready for a production environment. You can also report your results in the beta forum, which would give Astaro time to look at compatibility for your system before release.

Any timetable for v8? 2010 Q2?

AngeloC said that the beta will run through approximately the end of June.  If things hold to that time schedule, it will probably go final sometime in July.
